About Jerry Braza
For over 35 years Dr. Jerry Braza has been a leading voice in the field of health, psychology and mindfulness. Ordained as a dharma teacher by Buddhist Master Thich Nhah Hahn, this retired Professor Emeritis continues to bring the essential teachings of his work into a wide variety of spiritual and secular settings. His ongoing activities include facilitating the River Sangha in Salem, Oregon and mentoring sangha leaders nationwide. He is often a keynote speaker at conferences and is frequently asked to lead seminars, trainings, workshops, and retreats. His wealth of practical experience in working with thousands of students and leading hundreds of groups comes alive as he brings the teachings into action. His experience includes work in hospitals, mental and behavioral health groups, and non-profit organizations
Jerry is the author of two successful books on mindfulness. The Seeds of Love: Growing Mindful Relationships, focuses on applying mindfulness to deepen the depth and quality of relationships. His book Moment by Moment: Moment by Moment: The Art and Practice of Mindfulness, published in six languages, offers a beginner’s guide to learning the practice. Both books include a foreword by Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Other notable teachers such as the late Dr. Elizabeth Kubler – Ross, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield and Rick Hanson have endorsed his work.
Dr. Braza is also a student of the teachings of the late Catholic theologian Thomas Merton and often leads retreats blending the work of Thich Nhat Hahn and Merton.
